TYPE OF FILTER

A whole house three-tank three-media system. This is the whole house 2-tank, 2-media Chlorine Plus water filter AND a whole house fluoride removal tank.

FOR WHAT CIRCUMSTANCES?

The biggest risk of fluoride is from ingestion. So we suggest that you don't need to filter it at the whole house level. You may save money and get what you need by removing fluoride at the kitchen, and if you feel the need, get fluoride removal filters also installed at bathroom sinks.

* There are a very few individuals who have extreme sensitivities and/or whose skin reacts to fluoride. If you really need to take fluoride out of the whole house, this unit will serve them best. This has the amount of fluoride-filtering material you really need to do the job at the whole house level.

WHAT IS FILTERED

In addition to fluoride, this whole house system filters the contaminants you might find in municipal water. Examples include chlorine, chromium, heavy metals, chemically-based contaminants including chemical pharmaceuticals, organic-based contaminants like hormones, mtbe, chlorination by-products like trihalomethanes, asbestos, arsenic, iron, and hard scale. It will reduce fluoride. Plumbing and applicances are protected from staining, corrosion and scale, adding life to your household appliances including your hot-water heater.

The Fluoride Plus kitchen system removes fluoride and delivers a final fine-tune and leaves good tasting drinking and cooking water. (The primary risk of fluoride is ingestion.)

HOW THEY WORK

This is 'classic' filtration in which filtering happens as the water runs over and through the filter media. This is similar to water being cleaned by running through Mother Earth.

The types of filtration include 'pore opening', magnetics, catalytic action using reduction-oxidation, electroplating, ion exchange, reshaping of hardness ions and adsorption. An environment harmful to bacteria, algae and fungus is created.

Water flows strongly through the filter media - you will not observe a reduction in water flow.

Filter media are chosen and combined because they remove contaminants but leave the trace elements that the body needs. They work well together and are balanced with one another.

Reverse osmosis, with the use of membranes, is not involved. Water is not stored to be drawn down. Clean water is always available in whatever quantity you need. See Reverse Osmosis for more about membrane filtration.

Activated alumina is the best media for fluoride removal. (This is not aluminum.) This system contains the amount you need in homes to actually do the job of removing fluoride.

Kdf is a great filter material that is particularly effective on chlorine, heavy metals, chemically-based contaminants and lime scale.

Granulated coconut carbon is particularly good at filtering organically-based contaminants and leaves good-tasting water.

These work better than alternatives because they have more top-quality filter material. Filtration happens by contact time between the water and the filter material. More filter material means more and longer-lasting filtration.

The filtered water will be softer and will taste great, without the addition of salts or chemicals.
